Titus 01.10-16 | Expo$e Fal$e Teacher$ pt02 (02. Rick Warren)

Titus 01.10-16 “10 For there are many rebellious men, empty talkers & deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, 11 who must be silenced because they are upsetting whole families, teaching things they should not teach for the sake of sordid gain. 12 One of themselves, a prophet of their own, said, “Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons.” 13 This testimony is true. For this reason reprove them severely so that they may be sound in the faith, 14 not paying attention to Jewish myths & commandments of men who turn away from the truth. 15 To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled & unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their mind & their conscience are defiled. 16 They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable & disobedient & worthless for any good deed.”

02. Rick Warren
Rick Warren is known for the various campaigns that he does at his church, Saddleback in California. Because of the overall “Success” of his campaigns, many churches copy his model & get a lot of ideas from Rick Warren & his Purpose Driven ideas.

In a 2009 interview w/George Wood, stated where he got the idea for campaigns.

Here’s part of the transcript…
“You know, by doing these, um, campaigns, I actually learned the idea of a campaign, from the communists...of all people. Years ago, there was a book written, called, Dedication & Leadership. It was written in the fifties, by the head of the Communist Party of England, who converted to Christ. He actually became a Catholic. And he wrote this book on what the Church could learn from the Communists...not about “doctrine”...but you know, we know our doctrine, but “what were some of the tools that they used to help win converts to Communism,” & he wrote this book called Dedication & Leadership.  It is still in print, by, a Notre Dame Press.  It's not a very well-known book...but it’s Douglas Hyde-if you are a pastor & you want to pick it up...”

So many things wrong here.
1st- Roman Catholics are not Christians
2nd-Why is Rick Warren looking to the Communists for direction on how to lead a church, when we have seen it listed for us in the pastoral epistles (1Timothy, 2Timothy & Titus)?
3rd-Do the Communists really know what is the best way “to help win converts”?

So Rick Warren, known as “America’s Pastor” thinks that he can learn from the Communists & use their techniques in the church today.

In January 2011, Rick Warren introduced to his network of churches 03 doctors, all Eastern/new age meditation proponents, to help create his Daniel Plan diet.

These 03 doctors were ones that he personally selected, & continued to promote throughout the year that, were Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Daniel Amen, & Dr. Mehmet Oz. Not one of them are Christians & each one promotes some sort of Eastern/new age meditation.

For example, w/Dr Mehmet Oz, he highly recommends that people try Reiki.

Reiki includes other healing methods (therapeutic touch, healing touch, quantum touch, Pranic healing, & Brennan Healing Science)

Researcher Ray Yungen explains what Reiki or energy healing “is a force or energy pouring out of the practitioner’s hands into the client or subject. This energy always has a spiritual component & is supposed to alleviate a variety of ills & problems” (FMSC, p. 53).

Yungen describes the nature of energy healing: Occultists [i.e., New Agers] believe that man has more than one body, that there are other invisible bodies superimposed on the physical body. They refer to 01 of these as the etheric body & believe there lies w/in it energy centers called chakras (pronounced shock-ras).

The term chakra means whirling wheel in Sanskrit, the ancient Hindu language. They were seen by those w/clairvoyant powers as spinning balls of psychic energy. It is taught that there are 07 chakras, which start at the base of the spine & end at the crown chakra at the top of the head.

Each chakra is supposed to have a different function corresponding to certain levels of awareness. The chakras act as conduits or conductors for what is called kundalini or serpent energy. They say this force lies coiled but dormant at the base of the spine like a snake.

When awakened during meditation, it is supposed to travel up the spine activating each chakra as it surges upward. When the kundalini force hits the crown chakra, the person experiences enlightenment or Self-realization. This mystical current results in the person knowing himself to be God. That is why kundalini is sometimes referred to as the divine energy.

According to New Age proponents, all meditative methods involve energy & power, & the greater the power, the greater the experience.

Basically, what all energy healing entails is opening up the chakras through meditation or transferring the kundalini power from someone already attuned to it. (FMSC, pp. 76-77).

This is something that many experts are encouraging kids to take part in! This is being taught & practiced right here at Trinidad State Junior College.
