Now in our daily reading (Exodus31-33) we see the skilled craftsman called by YHWH, the golden calf, & Moses interceding for the children of Israel.
Exodus 33:11 “11 Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses returned to the camp, his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.”
Moses set up his tent to be the 1st Tabernacle (Exodus33.07-11). In the above verse, we see that YHWH spoke to Moses face to face. Wow! How awesome that is! What this literally means in the Hebrew is “intimate”. Moses had an intimacy w/God that most of us don’t have.
How can we become intimate w/God? Great question! I’m glad that you asked!
Intimacy w/God means that we are spending time w/Him. In a marriage relationship, in order for it to work, there needs to be intimacy. There needs to be a relationship where they are being exclusive of any other, devoted to one another, & spend time w/each other.
The same thing applies to our relationship w/God. In order for us to know God intimately, we need to spend time w/Him.
Spend time reading His Word, for this is how He speaks to us. Remember to read the text in context, getting the full flavor of the passage. Don’t ask yourself “What do I think that this means?” or “What is God saying to me here?” but to properly get the full context of the passage, ask, “What is God saying here?”
Now go be intimate w/God, & if you can, be like Joshua & never leave!
